FOOD AND BEVERAGE (BARTENDING)

Course Summary

The Food and Beverage (Bartending) course is geared at providing hands on training for persons desirous of working in the hospitality industry as bartenders.

 

Objectives

  • Prepare and serve non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages

  • Operate a bar

  • Proper techniques for mixing and serving drinks and cocktails.

  • Table service of alcoholic beverages

  • Process cash and non-cash transactions

 

Entry Requirement

​

  1. Any NVQ-J Level 1 certification.

  2. Or successful completion of the HEART NSTA Trust basic Math and English Diagnostic Test.

  3. Or at least one (1) CSEC or GCE subject or City & Guilds Certificate.

​

Qualification Gained

NVQ-J Level 2 Certificate in Food and Beverage (Bartending).

 

The NVQ-J Certification is recognized in all CARICOM and Commonwealth countries.
